Bonding

When bonding to your tooth, a composite, tooth-colored material is applied to the tooth and then solidified with a special light. Bonding can be used to effectively:

  • Protect sensitive teeth
  • Change tooth shape
  • Repair decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth
  • Close spaces between teeth
  • Improve the cosmetic appeal of your smile

Bonding reinstates the function and beauty of your teeth. After the procedure, your smile will be brighter, your teeth will be stronger, and your confidence level will be much higher.

Procedure

It usually takes just one visit to complete the bonding treatment. To prepare your tooth for bonding, your tooth will be conditioned with a putty-like material called resin. The resin is carefully sculpted, shaped, and colored to naturally add to the appearance of your teeth. After focusing a high-intense light on the resin, it hardens (bonds) to the surface of your tooth. Once sufficiently hardened, the resin is polished and smooth to look just like your natural teeth.

After the procedure, Dr. Nolasco will give you instructions for the care and maintenance of your newly bonded tooth. By following a consistent hygiene routine, you will aid the life of your bonded tooth.
